For sale is my good friend’s A. Lange & Sohne 191.032 2nd GenLange 1. This icon is a second generation piece from 2017 made from 18k rose gold with a solid silver, argenté dial and rose gold hands. It has a beautiful manual wind movement and a 72-hour power reserve. It carries a diameter of 38.5mm with a thickness of 9.8mm (which are perfect proportions for a Lange watch in my opinion). This Lange 1 pairs stunningly with the custom dark green beaver strap with gold stitching made by our own Aaron Bespoke. If you only get one Lange, the Lange 1 is the one to have. If you are a collector...then you might want to consider the watch that is the face of Lange. The second generation Lange was introduced in 2015 and includes the new caliber L121.1, far superior in technicality to the 1994 icon; a jumping date upgrade to the previous dragging version; and a clever re-setting of the second hand at zero when the power reserve drops off allowing for a precise adjustment when winding the watch again.
My friend is the second owner and purchased it from our good friend and first owner, @thewindingstem. I encourage you to take a look at his Instagram page for wonderful photos of this piece. This specific watch is featured up close in Langepedia’s coverage of the Lange 1. My friend loves this watch and is only selling it to fund the purchase of his family’s dream home. The watch includes inner and outer boxes, all papers (including operating instructions, guarantee and service booklet from a Lange A.D. in New York, unnamed and dated October 2017. Bonus goodies that came separately but will be included here are the engraving certificate for the balance cock with signature of the master engraver and an unopened boxed cleaning cloth with matching watch serial number.
The watch is keeping good time. The case contains minor swirls/hairlines which, even when photographed in different lighting conditions, is difficult to see. There is a blemish at 9:00 I have tried to illustrate in photos but which requires some real inspection under a very specific angle to notice from the naked eye. The strap is in very good condition. It has been worn lovingly and, accordingly, the inner lining shows evidence of this. Photos are taken on July 31 and August 1, 2021. Happy to share additional photos or a video, if you would like to see more.
The MSRP on this watch is ~51,000 CAD, as of Lange’s March 2021 price list, an increase of 7% over last year. Of note, as Lange has increased in popularity, the Lange 1, Datograph, and 1815 Chronograph have experienced price spikes on the secondary market and insiders expect prices to continue to climb for these Lange models. He’s offering for sale at 33,000 CAD, preferably involving a FTF transaction in the GTA. He’s not looking for any trades on this one. This may be the only rose gold, second generation, Lange 1 that’s ever been posted on CWC, get it while you can!
