Up for your consideration is a pretty rare reference from Tag Heuer, the Carrera Drive Timer released in 2014 and was only available from the brand's boutiques.
This model took inspiration from the Heuer Dashboard Timers of old, specifically the Master-Time. http://www.onthedash.com/master-time-overview/
It later served as a platform for the Muhammad Ali Ringmaster Special Edition.
The watch measures 43mm and despite it's size, wears very comfortably on the stock rally leather strap. I mostly had the watch mounted on a 22mm Barton rubber strap during the hot months when worn in rotation.
As such, the leather strap has seen little wear during my ownership.
It's not overly thick at just over 13mm on the side and 15mm to the center of the domed crystal. Lug to lug is 51mm. It's got great wrist presence on my 6.6" wrist.
The watch features a internal rotating bezel that's operated by the crown at 10.
I purchased this watch new from a boutique in Hong Kong in Sept 2014. The watch underwent a full service in May of 2021 by Time and Gold. At the time, I also ordered the OEM bracelet to go with the watch (barely worn).
The crown at 10 has been replaced during service.
It is in fantastic condition, only things to point out are 1) fleabite on the outer bezel edge at 33, 2) some hairline scratches on the polished bezel that can easily be polished out with a cape cod, 3) some minor scuffing on the back of the lugs from strap changes, and 4) a scratch on the caseback from a stray strap change tool.
There are clear similarities to a Big Pilot, but for a much more affordable price.
Asking $3800 shipped.
