Hey everyone, up for sale is my 1977 Rolex Submariner 1680 MK1 white dial. I bought this from the original owner in November of 2015. In December of 2015 Otto Friedl in Vancouver B.C. serviced the movement and installed a new crystal. Since then, it has gotten a few marks while being worn but still looks great. The watch keeps fantastic time while wearing it and also sitting. The case is in good shape. Small marks and light scratches are throughout the case but there are no serious dents or damage in my opinion. During my ownership, it has not been polished. However, I can guarantee the original owner has had it polished during its lifetime. The original MK1 maxi dial is perfect. No blemishes or marks are present anywhere. The markers have all consistently turned a nice cream colour. The hands are also original and perfect with no lume chipping. The lume colour of the markers on the dial and the hands are exact. The ghost bezel currently installed is not original to the watch. But it is a original Rolex bezel insert. The original bezel will be included in the sale. Both lume pips have fallen out. Neither of the inserts have major damage and only some scratches are apparent and a couple extremely small indents on the original insert. The case back has light scratches throughout as well as the underside of the lugs from the spring bars being removed.
When I bought the watch, it came with a 78360 bracelet. It has been sold many years ago now. I’ll include some straps in the sale. The black and white nato is not included.
Paperwork from Otto Friedl is provided from the service. As well as some other things from the original owner. Rolex service box with cloth and some other service related materials from the early 90’s.
I recently signed up with FlagShip but have not used them. I strongly encourage a F2F in the Vancouver B.C. area if possible.
Asking $15,300 no trades please
