THE SELLER

If you are here reading this, then you’re probably active enough in the watch community to have heard the phrase, “buy the seller”. Thus, it seems fitting to start here with a small introduction.

I guess I would refer to myself as a collector and enthusiast. I got into watches, in a big way, 6 years ago. Since then I’ve learned a great deal. I’ve watched countless YouTube videos, spent hours on forums, and visited untold number of AD’s and boutiques around the world. I’ve been to live watch events and talked at length with other fellow community members. I’ve had the privilege of experiencing hundreds of watches first-hand, across many types, brands, and price points.

Throughout this journey, I have purchased nearly 120 watches for my collection, selling more than 80 of these watches on to new homes. Being party to over 200 watch transactions, I think it is fair to say I’ve got some experience. I try to sell watches the way I would like other sellers to do when I am the buyer. I try to make sure that the pictures I provide are above-average, thereby allowing one to get a good look at the cosmetic condition. If I know there are flaws beyond very light normal wear, I will disclose it. If I know of mechanical issues, I will disclose it. Nearing 100 sales, I have yet to hear from anyone who was disappointed with the watch they received.

As a result of this selling approach, I have earned perfect feedback on eBay and on Watchuseek, now starting to sell on CanWatchCo as well. Until Chrono24 implements feedback for private sellers, you will have to take my word for it, but there are dozens of happy buyers there too.

THE WATCH

Sinn UX EZM 2B Hydro

403.030

I purchased this watch in 2022 from a private seller. It appears to be a 2014 example given the documentation supplied by the seller. I believe they were the original owner. The seller also supplied a Sinn service invoice from June of 2022 showing a battery change. Given the battery life of the Sinn quartz, you should have many more years before the watch needs a second service.

I am selling all 3 of my Sinn watches right now and this is one of the three. I still love the technical aspects of the brand, but I find that the style just doesn’t resonate with me the way it used to. Try as I might, I’m just not a bracelet guy. The Sinn really does work best on the bracelets, so… these watches just don’t get the wrist time they deserve.

Condition
The watch is in good condition for its age, quite good in fact.

Bracelet: When viewed under loupe, there is wear evident throughout. The clasp obviously showing the most of it. There are a couple of impressions in the metal and some faint abrasions. Well in keeping with normal use. Currently sized to 7.5” wrist with one additional link.

Case: Of note, there is one mark on the left upper leg (see photo). It is not an indentation in the metal, only a surface scratch. The fellow who sold me the watch forgot to mention that, but I don’t want anyone to share my surprise when the watch arrives. Otherwise, the case looks excellent. Under loupe, there are a couple of very minor nicks on the lugs, but worn on wrist, not visible at all.

Bezel: A couple of very minor nicks and scratches under loupe, but on wrist, looks good as new.

Crystal: Appears perfect when viewed with naked eye, magnifying glass, and also under loupe.

Keep in mind most of what is described is seen under loupe. When worn on wrist, with the naked eye, the watch presents as excellent. The only things noticeable, and only faintly, are the wear on the clasp and the surface scratch on the left upper lug. I would say this rates well on the upper end of used Sinn examples on the market.

My Impressions
The accuracy of this high end quartz movement is almost unmatched anywhere. When you’re used to mechanical watches, it takes some getting used to see this watch running exactly synced with its reference time for weeks on end. The oil filled case creates a very unique dial appearance that should be experienced.
