Today I have for sale a Sinn 836 with Tegimented Steel case and bracelet, so it is a very tough watch in good condition. I am the original owner, buying it new in March 2020, it comes with the complete kit with undamaged boxes and paperwork. The warranty has expired, but I have had absolutely no issues with this watch, and it has never been opened.
With a 43 mm case, 10.6 mm height, 22 mm lug width, and 10 bar water resistance, this watch wears well, fitting under jackets and shirt sleeves, but also works around the beach or pool. I have a pdf of the Sinn technical details that I can send should anyone who is interested.
The movement is the ETA 2893-A2 with anti-magnetic properties up to 100mT (=80,000 A/m) and beats at 28.800 VPH with a 50-hour power reserve. Since new, it is has always run consistently at +8s a day. Any watchmaker should be able to adjust this should the new owner decide they want greater accuracy.
It has AR coating on both the inside and outside of the sapphire crystal which makes for perfect viewing of the flat black dial ind any conditions. It also has luminous indices and sword hands, making it very easy to tell the time, and a red seconds hand to give the dial a bit of colour. The dial is very clean, with only “Sinn” under the 12 marker, and “Automatic” in small font above the 6 marker. The black date window with white numerals is located at the 6 o’clock position, balancing the dial.
The tegimented steel case is satinized except for a narrow band of polish around the bezel. The tegimented steel bracelet is very comfortable, currently sized for my 7.5 inch wrist with one extra link, and a diver extension; this appears to be the same bracelet as those used for the U1. This kit comes with the Sinn tools and for bracelet adjustment and the thread locking fluid.
The condition is good. To my eye, there are a few hairline scratches on the case sides, only seen at certain angles, and one small nick on the bezel at 12 o’clock. The bracelet has some scuffs on the 12 o’clock side and on the buckle. I am a bit ham-fisted during strap changes, so assume there are scars on the bottom of the lugs. The case back is not tegimented, so there are marks on it from resting on the harder steel bracelet.
I will also include a new, unworn 22 mm rubber strap. I bought it for this watch but don’t remember where I got it, but it has a lovely vanilla smell to it.
The photos were taken under harsh light so hopefully there will be no surprises. I suck at photography, so I will happily supply other photos under different lighting conditions. I will try photographing it outside.
