For sale today my excellent Seiko SKX173. This model is the equivalent of the SKX007 but limited to the North America market. You will notice the shape of the dial markers is different. What is not obvious when you look at stock pictures of the web is that the "Diver's 200m" text is pure red on the SKX173, as opposed to red-orange on the SKX007. Also the colour of the lume is mint green on the SKX173 while it is kind of vintage white on the SKX007. Here is a real life picture showing the differences.
That's a less common watch than the SKX007 or 009, with subtle differences, but enough to feel less mainstream when you have it on your wrist.

Price is firm. I know it is more than your usual SKX007 in the forum classifieds but with the upgrades I feel it is totally worth it. Please let me know if you have questions. Reason for the sale: honestly I am not sure about selling it but I just got another turtle, which I am not sure of keeping either. I'll keep only one of those two watches though so I'm throwing the SKX173 here and I'll see what it gives!

Features
- Movement: Seiko 7S26 Automatic (self-winding)
- Case: 42mm x 13mm thick.
- Back: Engraved screw-in back
- Water Resistant: 200 meters
Upgrades
- Flat sapphire crystal with blue AR coating inside. The blue AR coating is pretty intense when you catch the light at a good angle.
- Professional case polishing including the top of the lugs. The top of the lugs were roughly brushed from the factory, as are all SKX. Now they are polished to a high gloss just like the rest of the case. That dresses the watch up a bit. Really nice.
- Pressure tested to 100m after upgrades for peace of mind.
- Upgrades are less than a month old.
Condition
- Excellent. The case has just been polished so you will be hard pressed to find any hairline scratches. The caseback has scratches from wearing on a nato.
- Timekeeping is good at around -20s/d. Not COSC obviously but still within specs.
- Crystal is perfect.
- Alignement of chapter ring and bezel insert is excellent.
What's included
- Watch head.
- Original Hardlex crystal.
- Generic silicon strap on deployment, fits an 8" wrist. Nato pictured below is for illustration purposes only.
Asking price
- $350 shipped.
- Paid by EMT.
