STRAP: Original Rolex folded bracelet unmarked which is correct for this period, 80 end links
MOVEMENT: automatic, cal 1530
ITEM CONDITION: Fully serviced (end of 2023) by Ashton at Precision Horology. (see his Instagram for pics during the service). Overall in good/worn condition with some marks on case, bracelet and glass. The case wasn't polish during last service and it remains all bevels and "fat lugs”. Service included - complete overhaul, new mainspring, barrel arbor, bushing, winding wheel. Total cost approximately $2,500 CAD. Watch is running great for being 60 year old. Both serial and model numbers are clearly visible! The dial is original and untouched with original zinc hands (as found). Hands were stabilized. The only component that was added to the entire watch as not OEM is bezel pearl dot (original can be sourced, but I think it’s crazy to spend $500 plus for a dot). The clasp was hand engraved by its original owner with his initial back in days. Original lume on minute hand is partially missing, but I decided to keep as original as possible without reluming.
DIAL: Original untouched condition and very RARE Exclamation point, gilt, chapter ring dial. EXCLAMATION POINT dial - refers to the addition of a luminous dot under the rectangular 6 o'clock marker which indicates the radiation level had been lowered to adhere to new Atomic Energy Agency regulations.
WHAT'S INCLUDED: Watch on original Rolex bracelet which includes 11 folded/removable links plus 2x 80 end links currently sized for my 17,5cm wrist + 1x additional link and extra room adjustment on the clasp up to 19-19,5cm. Copy of the service invoice. I acquired this watch directly from EX- SAR Navy member who served as a diver here in Vancouver area - 82 year old gentleman - HE WROTE A LETTER ADDRESSED TO ME WITH LITTLE BIT OF STORY FROM HIS WORK AS SAR/NAVY MEMBER; PLUS PHOTO-COPY OF HIS UBC DIVING CERTIFICATION FROM 1962!!! - this will be included.
