Hi all. Long time Rolex and Porsche guy so here’s my grail that’s never leaving the collection with a ubiquitous steering wheel shot. Ventured a bit away from both over the years but they seem to be my happy place.

Very cool piece. Welcome to the forum!

Given the number of steering wheel shots, I wonder if a cop will let you off for touching your phone while in gear, if you say "I'm shooting my watch, I mean, look at the lighting in here!".

All wrist watch photos are taken on a closed course by professionals only.

Didn't even realize the Daytona in this picture.

I think you need to properly introduce yourself with more pics of the car.😉 The RUF made R&T's "Greatest Cars We've Ever Driven" edition which came out earlier this year.

Which model? I always remembered them from the Fastest Car shootouts in the 80s/90s.

Mine is a 97 TurboR factory conversion, and it actually is a dream to drive. It’s polite around town and most summers I daily drive it. Over 4k rpm it turns into an absolute beast. It’s the kind of fast that scares you senseless to really push it, even with the AWD, but it’s very connected and analog. I can’t imagine driving a RWD CTR full out. I believe most of the TurboR VIN cars were RWD as well.

It’s a bit of a sleeper with just the RUF badges, Wheels, Exhaust tips, and front drip rail fairings visible on the outside. Otherwise it just looks like a stock Aerokit 2 Turbo. Well, maybe a lowered one. lol. The one thing I’d like to add if I had to repaint it, are the rear brake ducts.

Yours looks and sounds amazing. Your passion for the brand is great too. I think it was a 1989 CTR Yellowbird. Apparently, Road and Track coined the term yellow bird. I have to admit that I don't know much about Porsche tuners (obviously the Singer brand stands out), so I wasn't familiar with RUF until reading this article. I've been wanting to get a 911 4S (a 997 but the 993's look great, even by today's design standards). Prices are still high relative to pre-covid. Definitely want to experience the Porsche family.
