Hey folks
Up for grabs is what i consider the best bang for buck diver after the SMP300.
Arguably better in every regard than a submariner, and more cost effective, with far more attention to detail, this 43mm German marvel stands heads and shoulders above the competition; pictured on my 7.5” wrist, it wears more like a 41.5mm timepiece.
With a massive panoramic double disc date window, GO has mastered the concept, much more than Lange) if you look closely the gap between the discs is minimal at best and sets at a snap, whereas Lange pano date is a longer process.
A beautifully domed crystal adds the perfect level of distortion to the markers that sit atop a masterfully executed blue dial that changes hue depending on the lighting, from a galvanic sunray to a deep dark blue.
If that wasn’t enough the cal 36-13 movement provides 100 hours power reserve (that’s over 4 days) finished with striping, a skeletonized rotor that features a 21 carat gold oscillation weight, beveled edges and heat blued screws, all viewed finish through an expansive sapphire crystal.
Add to that a bracelet that is entirely adjustable with an 8 step fine adjustment mechanism adjustable through the rear of each link, almost like a combination lock.
Fine chamfers on the case edge, a very precise and German detent on the bezel, with a blue ceramic bezel insert, and vertical satin finish on the case sides, this watch is as German a diver as can be, with legibility in spades.
Included is an OEM rubber strap, perfect for paring down the watch to a less flashy look.
There are some minor signs of wear to the case side and bracelet, minimal at best as I’ve usually worn the watch on leather or rubber straps.
Warranty card is dated 2021 and the watch runs at 0/+1s a day
You could settle for an Explorer around the same price, or treat yourself to some fine German watchmaking at $10,444 shipped from the GTA.
Retail is $16,000 plus tax
