ENICAR COLLECTORS REJOICE!
I've owned this watch for over 40 years and it was purchased from the original owner. It has seen very little wrist time in the past 20 years. Ilya at Goldtime here in Winnipeg did a comprehensive service about 8 years ago and replaced the crystal at that time. I also had Ilya look it over completely just this past week and it passed inspection with flying colors as he checked it for accuracy and lubrication. Everything works perfectly. There are zero issues with the lovely golden finish Valjoux 72 movement. I could write pages about this storied movement but watch people know its rich history and amazing quality. Hey, it was good enough for Rolex. Say no more.
The MK III came out one year after the MK II (June 1967) and for the first time featured the baton hands which replaced the unsightly paddle hands. As well the second hand was no longer painted red. The crown is original waffle style with the Saturn logo. Original black face with white "Panda" sub dials.
Lume still displays under UV light and the bezel and pointer rotate flawlessly. The case back is the correct Sherpa 300 with all the impressions clearly visible. I have seen many of these watches were the case back is completely illegible. Case back interior shows service inscriptions and the recent markings in red sharpie made by Ilya. New god quality leather strap. No original box or papers.
The bezel is the only part of the watch to show any real signs of wear. Just a little patina and to be expected on a nearly 60 year old watch. It's condition is excellent. Only 900 of this model were ever made and they are still highly desirable timepieces.
I have this fantastic watch priced well under its value as they routinely fetch $5,000US+ in the American market, which I refuse to touch for obvious reasons.
