Up for sale is my Tag Heuer Carrera 221A " Glassbox. I purchased this from a well known forum member last year and it just has not has the time on the wrist it deserves. A beautiful piece, that rarely appears here or anywhere else and in immaculate condition. Watch is still under warranty until September 2023. Complete full kit on its black leather deployment.

Released by the brand in 2015, the TAG Heuer Carrera "Glassbox" ref. CAR221A combines vintage appeal with modern build-quality, reliability, and movement technology. It was produced in limited quantities, although never as an explicit limited edition. Explicitly limited or not, the vintage-inspired chronograph has been out of production for some time now, with this particular model one of the few excellent examples to rise to market. It comes with a box, papers and warranty card. The outer card paper has some damage but is also included.

The images show the watch on a new Flucco brown leather strap (this will be included for the right price) alongside the original black strap with deployment. The brown leather really makes the sunburst dial pop in real lighting conditions and draws so many compliments. The original strap has no visible signs of wear but the deployment has caused some creases visible when not on the watch (pictured)

Watch is located in Dundas, near Hamilton and although F2F is preferred ( have met so many great people this way) i will ship via flagship for those interested.

Here for $5400 OBO

Please reach out for any questions. Thanks

More on the watch itself:

Inspired by the classic Carrera 7753 SNT from 1970, the TAG Heuer Carrera Telemeter ref. CAR221A brings cherished vintage charm into a wonderfully executed modern timepiece. Named after the Carrera Panamerica – an infamous, coast-to-coast race that ran in Mexico from 1950 to 1954 – the original Carrera chronograph was an immediate success after being shown at the Basel fair in 1963. From its launch, the Carrera had an established design code: a sharp case, clean chronograph configuration on the dial with matching-colored registers, and a reliable mechanical engine powering its operation. A few years later and Heuer began to experiment with the watch’s standard design codes, at least in colorways, at the time beginning to introduce a small selection of watches featuring the now iconic panda and reverse panda dials, among them the 1970 introduced Carrera 7753 SNT. This model, the TAG Heuer Carrera "Glassbox" ref. CAR221A, directly recalls the vintage 7753 SNT design, complete with its signature Carrera-style case, black registers on a silver dial, and solidly reliable chronograph movement in the Caliber 18. The watch is best regarded by its nickname, with the “glassbox” designation referring to the heavily domed sapphire crystal sitting over the dial which recreates the look of vintage plexiglass frequently used during the vintage era. Notably, the “Glassbox” sapphire crystal in this 2015-released model was, at its launch, a novel conception, arguably sparking the domed sapphire trend within the market at large as brands realized consumers growing hunger for vintage-inspired styles. The CAR221A notably includes an attractive black on silver panda-style dial, with a classic, vintage-inspired configuration, historical Heuer logo, and a pair of straight-forward lume-filled hands. The watch on the wrist is excellently proportioned, its steel case sitting comfortably at 39mm by 13.5mm and only a bit larger than its vintage counterpart on account of its automatic Caliber 18 as compared to the historical, manually wound Valjoux 7730.
