This is a very rare Panerai model, long discontinued.
I bought this one from a Hawaiian television personality back in the summer of 2007. I wore it for months and then passed it on locally. That guy wore it for 3 years or so, and then traded it back to me. I had it serviced and polished (2011), and then sold it locally again. After 3 more years, it has returned once again....
The last owner wore it quite regularly. He owns a restaurant, and he is constantly reaching into his wine fridges... with his watch on. Oops. Ok, the watch is not mint, but its not a beater either!
The bezel is pretty rough. At about 5:30, there is a substantial scratch along with a dent on the case just below it. There are other dimples, scratches and fleabites on the bezel as well. The case is in much better shape, with (apart from the dent) only small fleabites. The bracelet is scratchy. The caseback is scratchy, mostly because the watch was placed sunny side up everytime it was taken off at night (bracelet scratching caseback). A couple of edge chips on the crystal. Most of the blemishes could be cleaned out with a professional polish. Some would remain but could be smoothed over. Overall it looks fine on the wrist!
Only 900 examples of this watch were made in the H and I series. This one is an I, with only 400 examples produced. It is an all titanium case, with a titanium bezel. The bracelet (amazing!) is part ti and part ss. A work of art actually, and sadly no longer produced. It comes doubleboxed with all books and papers and warranty card. The watch is sized at 7.5" or a bit larger, and there is one spare link in the box.
Wear it as is, or have it restored. Either way, its a great price point to pick up a rare bracelet Pam.
