Here's something that doesn't come along often! Selling my Breitling Colt Quartz Chronograph, all original, on original factory bracelet, in need of refurbishing, repair or other TLC.
Let's start with the specs:
The watch has a brand new battery just installed by my watchmaker, and is keeping time. However, the chronograph functions don't work as they should, and sometimes don't work at all. While the crown unscrews and is easily pulled out in the usual steps, time-setting is a challenge as the hands aren't always responsive. Bottom line: this watch, nice as it is, will need significant servicing and quite possibly a new movement. The good news is that any competent watchmaker can source and replace this movement as Breitling used the ubiquitous ETA 251.262 for many of its quartz models including, as my research tells me, this one. This movement, and its more recent replacement, the ETA 251.264, are typically found on eBay for between ~$50 and $175 USD, depending on condition. My watchmaker in Toronto advised that the movement is locally obtainable new from Perrin at his cost for about $200 CDN.
The case and bezel are in very decent and presentable shape, but do show typical signs of wear. The Professional bracelet is scratched throughout, and the links and pins are loose. The bracelet will need either repair (if possible) in order to be reliably wearable, or replacement. [A Netherlands seller is currently selling a new-in-package 18mm OEM Breitling black rubber strap (Hershey bar style) with signed buckle for 160 Euros, which would be a perfect replacement for the bracelet. It's eBay item #332590300903 (which you would type into the search field to locate).] The bracelet is currently sized for a 7" wrist, and one spare link and pin will be included.
This Breitling is being priced very low having in mind both a quick sale and the fact that the buyer will need to invest some money to restore it to full function. Sell for $750 or best offer. Silly offers will be ignored. I will only ship this (after payment by EMT); there will be no F2F meet-up on this one. This Breitling is being sold "as is", without papers, boxes, or any guaranty or assurance regarding function or appearance, in light of the described condition. What IS guaranteed is that it is a genuine Breitling watch and bracelet. The pictures below were taken on the first day of this listing and show the external condition as best as could be captured with my cellphone camera.
