A popular and well known model on this forum, sought after but comes available from time to time

Notable features of this generation are the maxi case (thicker lugs) causing it to look and feel a bit larger on wrist, the glow of 904L steel, the modern bracelet. The well known and proven 3130 movement… and in a word, refinement. By the time Rolex released this generation of the OP they were flexing their muscle upon the original, the foundation and origin of them all. The 116000 was Rolex taking all their knowledge and disguising it in simplicity. It has everything, beauty, accuracy, durability and elegance, a versatile and true go anywhere and do anything watch. I have enjoyed it immensely but through the course of life I have just received my father’s Rolex and will now wear his watch in place of this one.

My two cents on the size, depending on your wrist and preference, the maxi case of the 116000 is neither too big nor too small, just right for a beautiful but discreet luxury timepiece that you can enjoy everyday, sometimes not even feeling it’s there. This is also the right size Rolex if you have a daughter you intend to give the watch to one day.

This is a full set, includes the extra links and was purchased in Toronto, including original receipt. It has not been serviced or polished and runs very accurately. It was a daily wear for 2 years and has the micro scratches from that, no dings or knicks. There are two slightly more significant marks that I’ve shown in the photos

Brief update, I decided to begin wearing the watch again and consequently chipped the crystal unfortunately...perhaps its a sign, I had been on the fence as a consequence of low offers. In any event, it's not available at the moment and I do intend to repair the crystal. After I've been in touch with the AD and can learn the timeline etc., I will update again.
best to all of you
