Hi CWC,
I'm in watch consolidation mode, so up for sale is my Omega Planet Ocean in the popular 42mm Black/White version, Omega ref. 2201.50.
This particular watch is a later production 2201.50 and per the serial #8525XXXX and the date wheel font, it has the proper indications that it houses the 2500 D movement, which was the last upgrade that Omega did to the cal. 2500 before moving the PO to the 8500 series movements. The primary difference from what I've read (but cannot explain any further in technical terms) is that the 2500 D coaxial escapement is of 3-level architecture in the same vein as the current 8500's, wheras the 2500 C was 2-level.
As you can see in the photos, this watch has some "flea bites" on the case. If you're looking for an every day wearer, last generation, late production 42mm PO, with remaining warranty, and a few blemishes don't bother you, please read on. The watch functions properly in all aspects as one would expect. The watch has never been opened up and the red dot seal is intact as you can see in the caseback photo. Timing on my wrist is consistently around +2.5 seconds per day, and the power reserve was 53+ hours when I checked it. The AR coating on the crystal is the newer "clear" version, as compared to the older version which has a bluer tint, and it is fully intact without notable blemishes or scratches that I can see.
Omega Warranty remains in effect until Oct.7, 2014. The watch is complete with the full bracelet, including all spare links, pins and collars, as well as inner/outer boxes, 3 cards/card holder, and manual.
I'm located in Sherwood Park, Alberta, and a local face to face deal in the Edmonton area would of course be welcome. I'm happy to ship fully insured within Canada, at buyers cost.
I'm fairly new to CWC, however I have a long established history on WUS and TRF under my same board name, and have bought something around 38 watches and sold 29 over the past nearly 8 years, at last count(haha) on the various forums, and locally on Kijiji.
Although this is a late model 2500D PO, with remaining warranty, taking the cosmetics into account, I'm pricing this one at $2675 CDN, cash in person or e-mail money transfer. Please contact me by PM, and then if the watch is of further interest, I'll gladly discuss in person, by phone, or via e-mail.
Thanks for looking !
