Up for sale is a neo vintage treasure. A near mint condition mid size Tag Heuer S/el 3 register chronograph in the Ayrton Senna style design. Champagne gold dial featuring the iconic re/green logo prominent in F1 circles. This is nearly a full kit which is missing only the booklet which I have sourced and ordered and will be provided to the new owner. Outer box, inner box is included. The watch comes on a single Y link black leather strap with OEM gold plated buckle. Would make an amazing Xmas present for someone special. Mid sized case can be worn by both men and women without seeming neither too small or too large. Shown on my 7 inch wrist. The gold on these watches was actually 18kt microplating and there is no wear on the gold areas of the watch which is quite rare. I remember drooling over these watches as a teenager in front of the Eaton Centre European Jewelers store window.
The quartz chronograph was added to the S/el range in 1990 and offered 1/10th second precision (with the recorder at the 2 o’clock position). The layout was dictated by the ETA 251.262 movement, which had this “2-6-10” placement, with the top two registers sitting higher than usual, above the midline of the dial. The inner flange has a tachymeter scale, giving the chronograph models more visual depth than the three-hand watch variants.
