Rolex Explorer ref 14270, on 78790 Oyster Fliplock bracelet with 558B end-links. Caliber 3000. N-serial dates it to early 1990s. Note the long-discontinued lug holes.

Movement is in extremely fine shape according to the two watchmakers who've seen it (one who opened it to check authenticity after I bought it, and one who later regulated it for me). Dial and hands are tritium, and no longer glow. Bracelet appears to be a replacement; no appreciable stretch. It has eleven links. None others come with it. No box or papers come with it, either.

Watch runs approximately +2 seconds per day when worn, but I noticed over the weekend that it runs about +8 or +9 seconds per day fast if left dial-up on the dresser for 24 hours. I've had far older Rolex chronometers with better manners than this, so I'll now state that this one's due for routine service. Price lowered as a consequence.

I would rate its overall condition at 85%. Lume and strict adherence to chronometer specifications aside, this watch has no functional problems and is ready to be worn.

Price: $2300 CDN, firm, plus your preference of postage & insurance. I generally ship expensive stuff via Canada Post, insured to the eybrows. Payment by cashier's cheque, e-mail money transfer, interbank counter deposit, or wire if you pay the fees. No PayPal.

Will consider the following trades:

With cash from your side, or straight trades: All-steel Datejust or Oyster Perpetual Date; black-dialed IWC Mark XV.

I'll add cash to a trade for a 1675 or a 1680.

Not interested in any other trades at this time.

This watch is 100% genuine Rolex. Your money and freight costs back if your local Rolex dealer says different upon inspection. I can provide top-shelf references to serious buyers before money changes hands.
