Condition
This is a well used watch. The watch keeps excellent time. The lugs show scratches. The dial is in excellent condition. The hands have some patina. The crystal is a new sapphire replacement and scratch free. There are two black dots on the LCD screen, not sure if it's just dust. The shroud is original and shows some nicks and scratches. It’s crack free. The bezel insert is original and clicks both ways as it should. The strap is a new Seiko OEM flat vent strap with new fat spring bars. The case has been thoroughly cleaned.
All functions work perfectly including the light, alarm and both push buttons. New battery Aug 2017.

The Seiko H558-5000/9/A was the first dive watch to have a hybrid analogue digital setup with digital alarm chronograph functions. The watch was later called "Arnie" since Arnold Schwarzenegger wore it in “Commando”(1985) and “Predator”(1987). In order to build a watch that was rugged enough for the toughest adventures Seiko engineers tested it to -40°C and up to +60°C. The watch was used on expeditions to the North and South Poles as well as by an international team of explorers that climbed Mount Everest in 1988.
With other features such as three time zones, chronograph, alarm and backlight, the H558-5000/9 is also a great ‘tool’ watch.
