For sale, a beautiful condition, jet black dial IWC GST IW3707-08 day/date chronograph in stainless steel. 2.9M serial dates to ca. 2003, ostensibly the last year of production (1998-2003). IWC ceased using tritium dials after 2001; thus, the lume on the hour makers and hand inserts is luminova, which allows it to keep its modern look. Dimensions are a very wearable 39.7mm across the case not including crown and pushers, with lug-to-lug of 46mm, and a case height of ~14mm including the sapphire crystal.

There are only hairlines on the polished parts, including the bezel and center links, from normal but careful wear. Could easily be polished out, but really not necessary as they aren’t particularly noticeable on the wrist, other than on close inspection. The case contour lines are sharp, with no signs of polished-down edges. The case back engravings, including the serial number, are also very crisp; indeed the case back looks pristine as there are no gouges or tool marks in the slots from opening tools or slippery hands. Rarely do you see a neo-vintage in such original condition.

The IW7922 movement is an IWC-modified ETA/Valjoux 7750 with day/date complication. It is maintaining absolutely excellent time, well within COSC standards of its day. When timegraphed just last month, the movement showed an spd +/- of 0; amplitude of 305; and beat error of 0 in the dial up position. In the 12 o’clock up position, it showed an spd +/- of -1; amplitude of 275, and beat error of 0. These are outstanding readings, indicative of highly accurate timekeeping particularly for a 20+ year old timepiece, owing largely to its workhorse IWC-enhanced movement.

The bracelet could fit an approx. 7.5 inch wrist with the 2 removed links reinstalled. These will of course accompany the watch. (The picture at the very top of the listing shows the watch on my near-7 inch wrist, loosely fitting.) Link removal or reinstallation is quick and easy with the underside push buttons that, when pressed, release the link bars and allow you to slide the bars out (these are small "bars", not pins or pins and collars). A genius bracelet system. The 2 IWC bracelet tools will be included. The solid steel bracelet has brushed outer links and polished center links. It articulates beautifully and hugs the wrist (IWC is known for their bracelets, among everything else), and tapers from 22mm measured from the endlinks down to 18mm at the clasp. The machined (not stamped) signed clasp is engineering perfection.

The watch will be accompanied by a set that includes the bracelet tools, unused IWC-signed polishing cloth, inner box (very tattered but functional and original to the model) and IWC manuals for this GST 3707.

Yours for $3,950 shipped via Flagship. Tough to find a better IWC deal out there.
