Up for sale is arguably the ultimate Grand Seiko. Rigged out with the all-new high precision Caliber 9RB2, and delivering extraordinary accuracy to the tune of ±20 seconds per year, the UFA, or “Ultra Fine Accuracy” model has landed!
We’ve been asking, and finally GS has listened, and blessed us with an on-the-fly micro-adjust bracelet. Sure, it took what felt like forever to get it, but when GS does something, they do it right, and this bracelet is perfection. Visually, the clasp is just a bit longer than your typical GS clasp. But tucked away on the inside you’ve got a series of adjustments in 2 mm increments, for a total of 6mm. In addition to the micro-adjust clasp, the bracelet is made of high-intensity titanium, starting at a lug width of 20mm and tapering to 18mm.
As part of the Evolution 9 series, the dial is stunning but not too busy. It’s textured, and features a finely detailed linear motif, layered with a delicate silvery-white tone; I call it cool herringbone. Legibility is increased and hand-cut indices are redesigned to catch even more light. A blued seconds hand cuts through the silver and enhances the texture.
The case too is made of high-intensity titanium which is about 30% lighter than stainless steel and offers superior scratch and corrosion resistance, as well as light and comfortable wearability.
Key dimensions include:
MSRP is $14,900 + tax; in Ontario that’s a grand total of $16,837.
This cutting edge GS can be yours for $11,499, OBRO, delivered to your doorstep.
