Up for grabs is likely one of my favourite dials on a 44GS case.
The SLGH013’s dial is said to mimic the “melting snow on Mt Iwate”.
A very faint, almost translucent, light blue, that appears silvery, the artisans at GS have done a fine job at creating this superfluous dial, though at first glance it does represent the frozen texture rather well.
My favourite aspect however is not just the dial, but the choice made by GS to fashion the case and bracelet entirely with their Ever Brilliant steel that boasts a PREN over 40, while 904L steel, the likes used by Rolex, boasts a PREN of 35.
This might seem like a gimmick, but when observed in person, the steel has a brighter, white gold type hue in comparison to 316L steel and is massively corrosion resistant, being used in ocean structures, chemical and food plants.
This example is powered by the 9SA5 movement beating at 36,000 VPH, yielding a 80 hour power reserve.
At 40mm width, a 47.2mm lug to lug and a 11.9mm thickness, this svelte piece is every bit as classy as it is a wrist magnet.
As with all GS, the beauty lies in the details; details that would otherwise garner a premium if paired with a Swiss model, and a premium some would gladly pay, especially when said movement is almost entirely handmade.
The price tag at $13,200 is nothing to scoff at and might seem excessive except when compared to a DJ41 that offers less for more.
This piece has faint micro hairlines on some polished bits but is in overall excellent to near mint condition as I’m nitpicking for blemishes.
Im asking a cool 40% off retail before tax, at $7925 shipped in the GTA
