Up today I have a rather unique timepiece for the discerning enthusiast.
I’ve had the pleasure of owning and wearing this model before and it is still as unique as it is captivating.
This model is in excellent condition and relatively worn in very light rotation.
The clasp has some minor signs of wear as does a couple links on the bracelet.
The name Ultra Chron stems from “Ultra Chronometer” and is a reissue of the original 42mm Ultra Chron that featured a date at 3 o clock. That being said, it keeps impeccable time at +1s a day.
This time only aesthetic with the high beat 36,000 VPH cal L836.6 was developed specifically by ETA for Longines.
At 43mm it seems large in theory but with a 48mm lug to lug, wears more like a 41mm.
One of my favourite aspects of the watch is the sapphire bezel insert that is lumed at the zero-marker triangle, as well as at the 15, 30, and 45-minute markers; the rest of the fully graduated scale on the bezel has several layers of anti-reflective coating on both sides and is slightly recessed and filled with red lacquer which ties in perfectly with the red minute hand.
Purchased at a local AD, it comes as a full kit with booklet, warranty card and double boxed
