Up for grabs is my 2019 limited edition GS SBGK005 with the "Mount Iwate" dial coated with Urushi lacquer. This model was a limited production of 1,500 pieces and is one of the hardest blues to capture.
A fan favourite among GS collectors, it comes in at 39mm width and 11.6mm thickness, featuring the manual wound 9S63 movement with a 72hr power reserve, whose indicator at 3 adds a nicely balanced dial layout
GS’ Grammar of Design GS is retained throughout with the wide flat surfaces, two-dimensional curves with distortion free mirror surface being incorporated into the case.
The watch is in excellent condition given the age, showing micro hairlines on the lug hoods and bezel.
The crystal is perfect as are the “barely there” case sides.
The bulk of wear is to the croc strap that has seen daily wear, but still retains adequate life.
Running at a steady 10s/day, it is everything you could expect from GS and more.
