Hey folks
Up for grabs is a watch rarely seen in the wild or available for sale.
This watch dubbed the “Racing Chronometer” by Omega, is quite obviously a chronograph but with the added feature of a Regatta Countdown timer displayed via the 5 holes in the dial, for you Yacht racing aficionados.
The subdial at 3 also aides in this countdown with the first 5 minutes in blue and the next 5 minutes in red, corresponding to the simultaneous transition to the dots in the dial and the different stages in commencing a yacht race.
The watch comes in at 44mm, wearing rather true to size, weight wise, though in foot print wears closer to a 42mm.
The feature I enjoy the most of this model is the relatively flat links of the bracelet that do taper down to about 20mm at the clasp from 21mm at the lugs
The watch is currently sized for about a 7.25” wrist with additional links accommodating up to an approx 8” wrist.
The watch itself in in great condition for the age, with a few signs of ownership on the case sides, a few links and clasp.
Powering the watch is the cal 3602 that runs like a champ.
The watch comes as a full set including double box, warranty card, picto, extra links and manual.
The Peter Blake 2254.50 typically runs about $3800 for a decent example.
This model, somewhat similar in aesthetic hr with the added benefit of a chrono and yachtimer, is arguably more bang for buck, yet I’m asking a very aggressive $3899 in the GTA for this example
