Up today I have a rarely seen example of the previous generation Pam.
This model comes as a full kit, including box, papers and a couple extra aftermarket straps.
The watch has signs of and has seen some wear, making it perfect for daily use.
The watch comes in at 44mm though the dial is the showstopper with arather uncommon vertically brushed anthracite texture featuring larger Arabic numerals and an “unusual for the brand” railroad track.
The contrasting sub seconds make it easy to view and is perfect for hacking and the all brushed case lends to a more rugged aesthetic and truer to the brands origins.
Overall it keeps great time at -5s/day and amplitude over 280
There are some spots on the underside of the crystal as well as a couple rough edges, and while not entirely bothersome (except to some) the underside mounted cyclops is a welcome addition and nod to the generation that bore this timepiece.
If you’re looking to get into your first panerai without breaking the bank, this can be yours for a mere $4250 in the GTA or plus shipping. Comparables seem to be between $5300 and surpassing 8k.
